DIY Forth of July Calendar

I found this awesome cupboard door at the thrift store for 10 bucks! I just couldn’t pass it up. Even though I had no clue what I was going to do with it I got it anyways.

Here is what I ended up doing, a 4th of July dry erase board, calendar, thing. Not really sure what to call it, but I think you get the idea.

Here is how I did it.

First, cleaned off all of the dirt and washed the glass.

Second, taped around the edges with painter tape.

Third, painted on the back side of the glass with acrylic paint.

( I didn’t want it to be permanent so I used a water based paint that I could wash off later.) I also used a brush with rough bristles so that you would see the streaks in the paint.

Ollie wanted to help and then took off with my paint brush. Luckily there wasn’t paint on it yet.

Fourth, took off the tape and… That’s about it! Now the idea was to use it as a calendar but you really can do anything with it, here are a few other ideas.

So my siblings like to play pranks on each other. A lot. It’s really quite entertaining to watch. My little brother Skyler went out of town this week, so my Sister Kylie and her friend decided to pull a little prank on Sky for him to come home too. I thought it was pretty clever! (I’m sure my little brother didn’t think so…)

They filled up cups of water and places them all over his floor, So when he got home last night he had to pick them up individual and go dump the water out. Very tedious. He posted this picture on instagram this morning and said, “Still don’t know if I’m mad or flattered!” Haha he has a good sense of humor when I comes to these kind of things.
