Slip ‘n Slide

Saturday morning Ev had work (the life of a hair stylist) so it was just me and the little loves for the day. We slept in until almost 10! (which I can’t even remember the last time i slept in that late) Got up to watch Saturday morning cartoons and eat breakfast.
The plan was to make pancakes but I didn’t realize we were out of pancake batter when I suggested that… soooo oatmeal it was. Luckily they weren’t too disappointed about it. Some friends in our ward invited us over for a BBQ and swim birthday party for their little boy so after breakfast I got everyone in their suits and we ran out the door (late as usually) but all dressed non the less.
We had a great time at the birthday party. They had a slip and slide that there boys were all about. Nix has been watching to get a slip ‘n slide since we left our other one in St. George when we moved so you should have seen the excitement when we showed up to the party and there was a SLIP N SLIDE, pure joy. Gibs mostly just watched the other kids slide  down and roamed around happy to just observe. I ate plenty of Fritos’s dipped in a  salsa/cream cheese/corn dip for the four of us, it was seriously one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. I could.not.stop.eating. everyone there were so nice and very welcoming. It’s something I’ve quickly noticed about here. Their southern charm and hospitality is something I will never forget.
I’m looking forward to this new week with nothing but sunshine on the forecast. I’m sure we will be spending a lot of time in the water or in line at the pineapple whip. Summer, don’t leave us too soon mmm k?!
On the way home we followed a old buggy and when the boys say it started singing, “chitty chitty bang bang, I love you” haha I love that they are taking on to the classics.
My little stuffed animal lover had to bring his “Owlie” along,
didn’t want him to miss out on any of the fun that day.
