Gingerbread Goes Modern

It’s  Gingerbread Making time!
Don’t be ashamed to nibble on some candy while you decorate your house.  It’s the holidays!! So treat yourself!  

 

Here is the recipe for good gingerbread house icing.
It’s really sticky so it holds your house together very well.


    Icing Recipe 

• 1 pound of powder sugar
• 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
• 3 egg whites

Beat slowly for about 5 mins. Put icing in a pastry bag or plastic bag.  Cut a hole in the bottom corner of the plastic bag to act as a pastry bag.  (Be sue to place a wet cloth over the bowl of icing.  It hardens very fast.)
