Baby Food Jars

Snacks To Go
I go through baby food jars like crazy at my house.  I have been trying to figure out a way to re-use them so I searched ideas on what to do with empty baby food jars. I found a lot of great ideas on what people have come up with!  Here is what I came up with.
           Snacks to go.

I usually will put crackers or goldfish into a Ziploc and then throw them into my purse on the way out.  This works fine, but they end up getting broken or smashed, and somehow end up all over the bottom of my purse… So I thought of turning the baby food jars into a little snack jar.  I keep them in my cupboard and then just grab them when I’m on my way out with the boys. It’s perfect!

Things you will need
Spray paint (flat)
Chalk
Empty baby food jars

First, I soaked the jars in hot soapy water to get off the labels. {I let them soak for about 10 mins so that they come off really easy}
Then I boiled the jars to get the sticky part off from the labels.

Next, I laid the lids on an old towel to spray paint them.
 {I used a flat black spray paint so that I could write on them with chalk.}
Then I filled the jars with my boys favorite snacks and wrote on the lids with chalk.
They fit perfectly in my purse and my two year old has fun opening the lid and getting the snacks out himself.
I also put juice or water in them.  My two year old loves it for some reason. I think It makes him feel like he’s drinking out of a big boy cup.

    Oh my gosh, what a good idea!! I wish I’d thought of this when my twins were still eating baby food. I was throwing away so many jars and kept thinking there must be something I could do with them….I tried turning a bunch into candlesticks but that was an epic FAIL. 🙂 Your idea is way better! My diaper bag always has zip locks of crushed goldfish and cheerios.
    anyways genius idea, and your kiddos are super cute!! Glad you found me so that I could find you! Following! 🙂
