With Christmas coming up comes all the presents, Santa Claus, Christmas lists, toys and Christmas decor. These are all fun things! but we have also been wanting to make sure our littles understand the true meaning of Christmas and how important and fun it can be to serve others. For family night, after we decorated the kids Christmas tree, the little loves sat around Evan as he read the story of The Giving Manger. Right after, they were all trying to come up with ways to serve so they could put a piece of hay in baby Jesus manager. It was cute to see how excited they were to serve. I’m excited for this new Christmas tradition of ours and hope that it continues to help us focus more on giving gifts of service.
Gibby was so sweet how she handled the little figure of Jesus.
She curled up against the pillow on the couch and held the manger and baby Jesus as Evan read the story.
Decorating the kids tree
We ended up getting a real tree for our front room, so this tree was moved to their room and has become the “kids tree” that’s what they call it. They had full range of how they wanted to decorate the tree. Ev and I of course helped with the lights and star, but all the ornaments was their job and the loved it.
This picture of them on the ornament was from three years ago!! We are hoping to take them to see Santa this weekend:)
Look how little Gibson girl was here! Man she’s getting so big.
Kisses by the Christmas tree. Love my Jovi boy!
Hope everyone is having a great week! To read more about the Giving Manger, you can head over here
